I'm starting this thread in case anyone has any questions for me, or just generally has something to say or converse about. So lay it on me, what's on your mind?

OK Kevin... you have obviously got this whole story written, laid out or at the very least outlined. The manuscript is undoubtedly secured in secret location so the entire plot is not revealed via a nasty's website somewhere... here's my question: Is the story influenced at all by reader's feedback or where they think the story should be/will be going based on their prognostications?

Well, I've got to say that the story really hasn't been influened that much so far, largely due to the extreme low amounts of feedback since we're such a new strip. But, even if I would change direction if people starting guessing things (which I really can't see myself doing), from what I've seen no one has a clue what's coming I'm actually loving the guessing, though. Some of the things I've heard people are thinking about the story are misdirections I never even intended, but I love them! Kind of a funny way to go about it, but it's great. One reader response I've heard and heeded though is that the story is moving too slow. I was actually told that when #5 went up, and had thought the same thing when I saw it. So I'm making a conscious effort to keep the pace up, and I think it's going pretty well right now.

I would agree that it is moving a bit slow. Frankly, I would like to see the strip double in size. Have 8 panels rather than 4. And with the style of art that accompanies the writing, I don't think it would infringe on your deadlines.
I JUST WANT MORE!

Well, Ted's still learning his way around the art (although he's gotten very good in my opinion, #9 looks amazing) and both of us (especially him) have plenty of other demands on our time. So right now we're keeping at what we have, but we're working toward a specific point where we'll be able to start doing two updates per week. The second update will be a little something special though. You heard it here first

Meaning, I want more — and I don't want to wait for it!

Kev's got nothing to apologise for here - it's entirely my fault we're going at this pace. I would be getting away with it, if it wasn't for that pesky university degree course.
I sincerely hope I'll be able to pick up the pace once I'm done with my degree, and will certainly do my best to.

Hi guys. Mr. Syn here. I've been meaning to pop in and tell you what I think. I'm digging this story more and more. Ted's pencils are really tightening up well. IA really has a good noirish vibe to it. both should be commended. I like the idea of an 8 panel weekly strip as well. but I know y'all have a life so I won't push the subject. *wink wink* 8 panel *nudge nudge*

Good to see ya Marlowe! Glad you finally posted!
An 8 panel strip is not anywhere in our plans to be perfectly honest. But as I said above, there will come a point when we plan to do two weekly strips, even though the second every week will be something different, not just more of the same thing quicker. And I'll go ahead and tell you, that is born out of the events of what we're planning to be the twenty-fifth strip. I can't tell you anything more about the second update until we get there, because it would be spoiling everything, but at least it's something to look forward to. And of course this is all provided Ted has the time by then.
And something I posted on the MD I think I should say here, because I'd like to get readers' opinions on it. I've noticed that the more character focused I get with this strip, the more I enjoy it and the more proud of the work I am. But how do you guys feel about that? Does a strip like this week's which is all talking and character based grab you, or are you just waiting for the next mutilated corpse or a monster/Klugman throwdown or something? What style do you like best? I'm not saying the answer is going to define the strip from here on out, but it'll certainly factor into my thinking.

That's cool. Don't wanna get too greedy.
Funny you mention the character plot or action adventure slant to a comic. As I was thinking about what I'm currently liking in my reading. I'm always down for action and violence in my comics. I'm also finding me enjoying the character study angle just as much, if not more. If a writer creates or is working with a persona that is believable and layered, then I'll enjoy that as much as a good duker. Example: Superman:Up, Up, Away is a story more about Clark Kent, with Superman playing second banana. I think it is one of the best Superman stories I've read in a long time.
I think that is something both you and Ted could pull off. Whether it be with the characters in IA, or some other characters and stories I know you guys got brewing in your heads. But hey if you wanna do some cover to cover slam bang action you won't hear a complaint from me.

Query: What is the setting of IA? I saw on the front of the police station GCPD. So my mind jumps right away to Gotham City. If so Jim Gordon has gotten a potty mouth.
